::Dreamless::

In the wake of long shadows
rose the moon, beside shreds of
-dreamless stars-

tracing back a frail trail
lost in obscurity -
-unfathomable-

Dreams, suspended among,
dense unceasing thoughts
-dethroned-

::Mindless Musings::

Unfurl Unplug
Wired Wings,
dreams disappears
under
leporous landscape,
tart teeming
across apathetic
mindless musings
monotonous.

Smiles unlimited

::Tangerine Horizon::

Tangerine Horizon

Across horizon, a tangerine dawn,
stirs remnant midnight hues,
brushed by curls of golden yawn,
silent shadows - no longer pursue.

Dandelions sway with lively charm,
feathered colors fly over moor,
cuddling embrace of breezy arms,
bewitching - a new morn's allure.

::Smiles of a summer night::

Radiating through violet shadows
resplendent rays of moonlit charm
Smiles of a summer night.

Velvet moss on pavement grey
elegant shimmer of crystal stream,
Radiating through violet shadows,

Maple adorning colors of Fall,
bedecking a world, still and calm,
resplendent rays of moonlit charm.

Butterflies engaged in spirited plays
Gently rings the memory bell, like
Smiles of a summer night.

Poetry form - Cascade

* Written for Jingle's Thursday Poet Rally

Accepting the perfect poet award gifted by Jingle in week 30
* Image : google

** Cascade, a form created by Udit Bhatia, is all about receptiveness, but in a smooth cascading way like a waterfall. The poem does not have any rhyme scheme; therefore, the layout is simple. Say the first verse has three lines. Line one of verse one becomes the last line of verse two. To follow in suit, the second line of verse one becomes the last line of verse three. The third line of verse one now becomes the last line of verse four, the last stanza of the poem. See the structure example below:
a/b/c, d/e/A, f/g/B, h/i/C
To make the Cascade an even longer poem, use more lines in verse one. For example, if verse one has 6lines, the poem must have seven stanzas so that each line of verse one is reused as a refrain in each following stanza (a cascading effect).

Yester-Years

Dusky horizon,
recalls Youthful yester years,
A Time so yonder,

yeaning yanky days,
of yellow petals and yacht,
gentle waves of time.

Writtem for the Z-A in 26 Days Challenge at I Rhyme Without Reason

::A Glorious Dawn::

"A still more Glorious Dawn Awaits
Not a sunrise, but galazy rise,
A morning filled with 400 billion suns,
The rising of the milky way " - A glorious Dawn

My ipod has got stuck on this song .... continuously playing since yesterday .... :D
Awesome is a word too less to describe the feeling I get everytime I listen to it. :)

This one is for all those people who love star gazing and galaxies and distant black holes looks far more appealing.

Wrote an article on similar lines in my other blog A speck of dust, but Unique , inspired by  Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot.

::As the clouds pass by - Revised::

As the clouds pass by
thousand thoughts fly,
painting silver memories,

of unstated words and
passion suppressed,
behind the walls of
whitewashed dreams,

Whispering a secret,
caressing my soul again
the clouds pass by.

-Time can heal life-

::While my guitar gently weeps::

Memories of yesterdays,
whisper softly,
tingling like a
waft of familiar fragrance
lost in timeless space.

The songs we composed
for long winding road
remained unsung,
-smeared -
on lifeless paper.

The solitary night
stitches notes from
-scattered rhymes-
playing the missing song.

While my guitar gently weeps.

* wrote the poem for a title contest, the title is from one of Beatles songs.

As the clouds pass by

As the clouds pass by
A thousand thoughts fly
across my convoluted mind

words unsaid,
emotions unexpressed,
whitewashed dreams,

forming familiar patterns
teaching another lesson ,
Time can heal life

They smile down at me,
the clouds that are passing by.

::Oppression::

Oppression

In tumultuous times,
of cruelty and oppression,
she rose above the
slaved crowd,
through lashes and
stones of hatred,
by so called
guardians of faith,
she succumbed to gashes,
by society's whip,

What right they have
to rewrite their lives
or bind them through
blinded beliefs.
Or clip their wings
before they unfurl.

I was reviewing A thousand Splendid suns , when the above thoughts came to my mind. Its a haunting tale of two women struggling and battling with life, in the pitiful state of Afghanistan.

::Waves of Memories::

Waves
crashing
against the
silver shoreline,
echoing memories of yesterdays.

Gently trickles down a solitary
tear of unborn
dream, sleeping
in my
eyes.

::What's My Fault:::

What's My Fault

Hollow faith caress bruised esteem,
scars hidden underneath the seam,
night reverberate silent screams,
aborted dreams, aborted dreams

fractured by lustful invasion,
modesty lies among treason,
Why victims are pinned as reason?
unfold questions, unfold questions.

drenched in shame, locked in guilty vault,
she gulps down his ruthless assault,
striving for answers, 'What's my fault?'
When life will halt, when life will halt?

** Whether its molestation, rape or any other sexual assault - Why is it that our society victimizes the victim? Why do the victims have to live in shame and suffer the ridicule?

Form: Monotetra
The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. What makes the monotetra so powerful as a poetic form,is that the last line contains two metrical feet, repeated. It can have as few as one or two stanzas, or as many as desired.

Beautiful Morn(Etheree)

sprinkle warmth on
sleepy canvas of
tangerine horizon;
blinking, yawning milieu wakes,

a song of life, dancing to the tune
that embraces another beautiful morn.

::Superstar::

Superstar

Her nails aren't manicured and skin has lost the grace
unlike figures in glossy Mag, time had marked its pace,
but in dark lonely nights, when she embraces you tight,
subtle warmth gently reveals, beauty hidden inside.

Neither he’s the poster boy, splashed across Page 3,
With dazzling Golden boot or Mercedes SUV,
but when unknown chasm, secretively schemes ,
his strong arms will forever, fight for your dreams.

The fingers entwined, through shadowed maze,
or face of your smile, shinning behind the greys,
is an image reflected, by moments afar,
The reason of your life, the real superstars.

** Dedicated to the real superstars of my life - My Understanding Parents, Dramebaaz-Brother :P and Dahling Sister :)

India Calling

Fluttering below the cerulean sky
Echoing love, million sacrifice
Honored emblem of treasured land
Adorns humility, harmony garland

Yawning sunshine lits up east
Shimmering dew, waving tea leaves
Vibrant colors of desert realm

Enchanting shlokas reverberate
Offering prayers as Vedas state
Church-bells chime another lullaby

Carnatic hymm,graceful tarangam

::Running Back to you::

Running Back to You

Staring at the photos,
Memories flash by,
Crouched in a corner,
Silently - I cry.
A convoluted maze
of a life so blue,
Where to go now,
I have no clue.

'Friends' are so mean,
Wearing a smiling shroud,
Daddy's pampered girl,
Is lost in the crowd.
Home is too far,
Visits are only few,
Mom,Dad I feel like,
Running back to you.

::Desolate's Diary::

Desolate's Diary

Lovely forlorn eyes
Scanning bakery shop
Growling empty belly
Screaming nonstop

Coarse little hands
Searches the trash
Stumbles on a burger
Gobbles-up in flash

Under midnight blue
Scrounging for life
Glass-piece crept into
Grub relied to survive
